Photo/Art Exhibitions
May-May is trying to pass on God's messages in everything she does. Through the photos she takes with her mobile phone, she tries to capture the world as God reveals it to her. She takes photos of God's light or asks others to photograph her accompanied by that light. There is often a story behind the photos. A friend of May-May who graduated from the Rietveld Academy told her, her photos can be categorized as 'art brut.' He organized her first exhibition for her in The Hague, together with a teacher from the Royal Academy of Arts and with help of another curator. Because Christ/God encourages her, May-May also refers to her photos as 'spiritual art'. Her photos are sometimes testimonies such as the photo 'Carried by the White Light' and 'God's light from heaven' and the photo 'Cherish life.'
God is with us. He is sending us peace and love. He wants us to achieve world peace and end hunger. To take care of vulnerable people, animals and our planet. To work towards: A World in Which All Children Can Play.
PS Since the photos are made with help of God and many others, they are public art. A gift.

A little violet between the paving stones - 2021
God/Christ contibuted to my healing from psychosis and depression, although I still have a vulnerability for
psychosis. One part of my journey has been: learning to see the beauty in small things. Such as this lovely little purple
violet between the paving stones.
Blossom in the closed patio - 2021
In 2021, I was hospitalized again. It was in the middle of the winter, 13 December. Nevertheless, Christ showed me
white blossom in the closed patio.
13 December 2021, when I was hospitalized again, I posted the photo of the blossom on X/Twitter. With the folowing text: I love Christ. Christ loves everything that lives.
#WorldPeace #Endhunger #Fornature #Blossom. Photo taken today.

About the left photo, Cherish life. May-May went to the sea with her father in September 2023. The sunlight shone dazzlingly across the seawater. A father was playing in the sea with his young child, while holding it tightly. The atmosphere was peaceful and harmonious. May-May asked her father to photograph her with the light, not expecting anything special. When she saw the photo, she noticed the young father embracing his child. She felt as if God was empowering her message to cherish life and to facilitate world peace. To love one another – especially the children - and to care for nature.
May we see soon: A World in Which All Children Can Play.

Photo: The rose Christ showed to me when I was in forced hospitalisation - 2013
The rose that Christ showed me when I was involuntarily admitted
I walk through the courtyard garden and look through the uncovered upper part of the fence to see the Sint Vituskerk.
‘Dear Christ, help me please,’ I murmur.
I love you, it will be alright. Just look around you.
‘Thank you dear Christ, thank you.’
I look straight ahead of me. Between the green ivy growing along the fence, I see a beautiful red rose. The flower is directly in the light of the autumn sun. A red rose! The symbol of love! And also the symbol of my political party. I take a picture of it. I observe that even in the innermost depths of a psychiatric hospital, where I have been admitted against my will, it’s possible to find something so beautiful. I am going to get out of here someday. I will be better and the world too. Peace is coming. I pick up my phone and post the photo of the rose on my Twitter account with the text: I have been kissed by a rose... She is so beautiful.
(The above passage is from my book *Here I Am*, page p.93, boek Hier ben ik, p. 87)

Photo submitted for the catalogue: The rose Christ showed to me when I was in forced hospitalisation - 2013
In 2013, I was a mother of a seven-year-old boy. I was in forced hospitalisation due to my psychosis. While I was walking outside in the patio of the institute, Christ/God showed me this beautiful rose. I hoped it would contribute to my recovery and to peace in the world.
I have learned to live with my vulnerability for psychosis and mania. My son is a grown-up now. God is still with me to this day. May every life be cherished. May we care for each other and for nature. For: A World in Which All Children Can Play.

The Beauty of Nature
In 2021, May-May was once again hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital for a month due to her psychosis. During her walks in Laapersveld park, she took photos with her mobile phone of the swan family and the birds in the park. The swans got used to her and let her come close to their family. Sometimes it seemed as if they posed in front of the camera of May-May's mobile phone. May-May felt as if God was showing her the beauty of nature to help her heal and to empower their joint message - and the message of many others - to care for nature and to facilitate world peace. May we see soon: A World in Which All Children Can Play.
The mayor of Hilversum signed in 2013 a declaration that May-May could be hospitalized against her will in a mental hospital. So it was very special for May-May to show the mayor of Hilversum - Gerhard van den Top - her art, which she made during her voluntary hospitalisation in 2021. The mayor and May-May are on the third photo from the left, at 5th January 2026 the last day of the exhibition in the town hall Hilversum. Gerhard van den Top is another mayor then the one who signed the declaration.
